Why is it so hard to manage
a website?
Why are the steps so complicated?
Why can't you use the tool of your choice to publish?
Why do you have to make graphics or videos in one tool and then
publish them with another?
The reason is security.
To keep your web site secure, most providers only permit access
to your web site with secure tools. So unless your video suite supports
the same secure publishing scheme your hosting provider does, you
need to go from tool to tool to tool.
Would you prefer your choice of tools? How about
easy access from anywhere, by anyone you allow. How about being
able to use whatever tools you want, whether you need to put up
web pages or podcasts, without having to launch a separate posting
or transfer tool.
ParaDrive makes managing hosted files as easy
as managing local ones, with complete security. If you want to modify
a web page, just open it, in any tool. Do you want to publish a
video? Just save it to your hosted directory from any tool. Do you
want to back up the web site? Use any back up tool, even WinZip,
as easily as if the files were on your desktop.
How?
ParaDrive allows you to access your data on file
servers that use FTP or SCP as if it was a local drive instead of
using a protocol specific client. This allows you to use any of
your local programs with your FTP or SCP site. Just open a document
like you normally would and save the files and theyre instantly
transferred to the server.

Managing your website has never
been easier
Do you have a website? Get tired of editing, saving, pull up another application
and saving your documents to the website? How about when you want that
latest mp3 or jpg file to show up so someone can download? Wouldn't it
be nice to just drag and drop it into what looks like a local drive? So
even if your website is hosted on a Linux or a Solaris machine located
at your ISP you can still make your /www directory appear as a local drive
on your system.
Platform
Support for 32 bit XP/2003/Vista. 64bit versions of our software will
be available in the future.
ISP Edition
ParaDrive is the tool of choice for ISPs because it makes managing hosted
files as easy as managing local ones, with complete security. Your users
will love the ease of use; if they want to modify a web page, they can
just open it, in any tool. Do they want to publish a video? Just save
it to the hosted directory from any tool. Do they want to back up their
web site? They can use any back up tool, even WinZip, as easily as if
the files were on their desktop.
Resources
As an MIS manager with a growing population of staff that now work solely
from home you need to update specific software to systems on diverse networks,
add to this that most drive resource sharing doesn't work off a local
LAN and add in requirements for encryption and security and you have a
huge headache. ParaDrive deployed throughout your corporation will allow
you to deploy software and have a central repository for your information.
This allows you to manage and secure your network while using your available
tools for backups.
The ISP Edition allows providers to provide their customers
with ParaDrive in such a way that each copy doesnt have to be licensed.
We do this by providing a certificate with a connection mask like *.webmaster.com
or ftp*.webmaster.com. In this way you can hand out as many copies of
ParaDrive to your clients. Pricing on this is based on the number of systems
or hosts as well as the number of clients. Please contact sales@webmaster.com
for more information.
Multiple Protocol Support
What happens when a ParaDrive server isn't available
on the machine where you want to get your data? ParaDrive will also act
as an FTP client allowing you to mount or make available on your system
a remote ftp server just like it was a local drive on your system. Below
is a list of alternate protocols that the ParaDrive client supports.
- FTP
- SFTP
- SecureFTP
- SCP
- HTTP
- And coming soon Front Page Extensions
Access Security Requirements
Both the server and the client portions of ParaDrive
can be configured with additional security. This allows you to have the
mounted drive or directory unmount (detach) or prompt for a password when:
- A specific time has been reached.
- The screen saver activates.
- No activity has been detected.
- A Hot-Key is pressed.
- The drive is unmounted.
Your data is important and this feature will
allow you to protect your mounted resources when you leave your computer.
Say when you're at a cyber-cafe or have roommates, or any time your computer
may be accessed by others, you can use the above security settings to
detach or protect your resources. Likewise corporate MIS departments can
control how access is given and revoked. This will protect corporate documents,
client or patient data.
Utilize Local Operating System Tools
- Manage remote files easily and natively using
all the tools available in your Operating System.
- Use local backup utilities to backup your
data.
- Run popular antivirus software on both your
local and remote drives.
- Create local scripts to manipulate files.
Availability
ParaDrive will be available in the 4th quarter 2008.
